MTV Pulls Plug on Lauren Conrad Reality Show

MTV made the announcement last fall that Lauren Conrad would be starring in her own new reality show, but they spoke too soon.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lauren was suppose to have her own new show (which she had already been busy promoting) that would following her work on her fashion line.

“We decided not to go ahead with the show,” David Janollari, EVP, Head of Programming for MTV told EW. “She did do a pilot. There were talks about whether we could somehow manage to put together a special based on that footage but that’s also a big question mark based on her interest in that and the finances.”

“We love her!” he added. “We would love her on our network!”


The show was supposed to be more of a documentary style rather than one like The Hills, but wasn’t included in MTV”s Upfront this week.

Janollari explained, “It was a great attempt but it just didn’t feel like a perfect fit for us now.”

The newest cast member of The Jersey Shore Deena Nicole Cortese makes an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and reveals which housemate she has a crush on!

This episode airs on Monday (January 17).

Ellen: “You’re flirting with the guys. You’re single I assume.”
Deena: “Yeah, I’m very single.”
Ellen: “Yeah, because you don’t want to get into that show with a relationship going on. I don’t think anybody would want their girlfriend on that show.”
Deena: “Yeah, and plus I’m always single.”
Ellen: “You’re always single but do you have a crush on one of those guys?”
Deena: “At the time, whenever I was drunk for some reason I always thought Mike was good looking.”
Ellen: “When you’re not drunk, you don’t think he’s good looking?”
Deena: “No, when I’m not drunk, I’m like a normal person in front of him. When I’m drunk, I look embarrassing. I’m like, ‘Oh, hi Mike.’ I’m like, ‘Oh no. Here we go.’”
Ellen: “You can rectify that if you don’t drink. You wouldn’t be like that.”
Deena: “I know.”
Ellen: “But he’s got a situation going on there.”
Deena: “You know what it was. His personality was so easy to talk to when I first went in. Everybody else, maybe I was a little intimidated by but him I wasn’t. I don’t know why I wasn’t intimidated by Mike but I wasn’t so he was the easiest person that I could talk to. I don’t know. I always thought Pauly was good looking. Maybe I was a little more intimidated to talk to him first rather than [Mike].”
Ellen: “So it sounds like you’re interested in Pauly.”
Deena: “Yeah, well I always though Pauly was good looking.”
Ellen: “Well, it seems like. Pauly, she’s interested.”

The Jersey Shore reality star is getting his own spin-off television show, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively."They have already chosen a name and of course it will be deejay-related," a source told RadarOnline.com.


Paul DelVecchio had a passion for spinning long before he was cast as a guido on the MTV hit.When the 28-year old isn't shooting the Jersey Shore, he's traveling the country and Canada doing his favorite thing, spinning tunes.But now that the show's wrapped it's third season, he has the opportunity to do both.

"It's another MTV reality show and he'll be DJ-ing and of course doing things his fans love to watch," the source laughed, referring to Pauly's way with the ladies."It's scheduled to begin shooting within the month."

When contacted by RadarOnline.com, MTV had no comment.

Former Destiny's Child singer Michelle Williams is returning to the U.K. this fall to appear on the dance competition series 'Strictly Come Dancing.'The talent contest, similar to 'Dancing With the Stars,' kicks off on Sept. 10.
