Dina Lohan Wants a Reality Show on Lindsay's Rehab Stint

The 'Machete' actress' mom Dina Lohan is reportedly "shopping" around the idea for a new program to follow her while the troubled star receives treatment in the Betty Ford Center in Palm Springs, California, and will even allow cameras to accompany her when she visits her daughter.


A source said: "Not only has Dina been 'shopping' around her upcoming trip to visit Lindsay in rehab at Betty Ford to media outlets for the sale of pictures but she is doing it to develop a new reality show!"

Meanwhile, Lindsay's father Michael - who divorced Dina in 2005 - had blasted his ex-wife for trying to use Lindsay's personal problems to boost her own career.

While Lindsay Lohan did good by visiting a homeless shelter in L.A. over the weekend, she was quietly shopping around a photo of herself wearing her SCRAM bracelet days after leaving jail.


"Lindsay Lohan was calling around the pap agencies all weekend trying to get $10,000 up front to pose up in the SCRAM bracelet," a reliable insider tells UsMagazine.com. "All of the major players passed, and she ended up doing the setup with a small agency."

Adds the source, "She was pimping it out all weekend, looking for 10 grand, but who wants to deal with that headache?"
The 24-year-old Lohan - who is expected to return to rehab very soon -- is due back in court Oct. 22 after admitting that she failed at least one random drug test in her three-year DUI case.

Further proving Hollywood executives still have a long way to go before they trust Lindsay Lohan again, sources tell me the only way producers would allow the rehabbed star to participate in this year's VMAs was if she agreed to tape her segment rather than perform live like most of the other skits.

"Lindsay knows she has a ways to go before she gains back the trust of everyone," a friend of the troubled actress tells me. "But she's just grateful to be getting these offers again."

I know it's hard to fathom, but there was actually a time when Lindsay was being offered presenting gig after presenting gig for A-list awards shows. Been a while, right?"Now, she's just grateful to be asked back even if she has to tape her performance," my source reveals.

Lindsay's surprise appearance made fun of her recent struggles in a pre-taped segment with cheeky host Chelsea Handler. "Hello Chelsea," Lindsay said. "Have you been drinking?" "No," Handler replied, before Lindsay asked, "Then why is your ankle bracelet going off."

Lindsay, who is actually back in New York celebrating her mom Dina's birthday on Wednesday, watched the show with her family. Sources tell me she thought it was funny and understands, givien her past behavior, why the producer insisted she tape it in advance.

Lindsay Lohan Pre-Jail/Rehab Interview Now in *Vanity Fair* October 2010 Issue

Lindsay Lohan graces the October 2010 issue of Vanity Fair, on stands Sept. 7. Here’s what the 24-year-old shared during her interview, which took place before she headed to jail:


On her supposed alcohol addiction: “If I were the alcoholic everyone says I am, then putting a [scram] bracelet on would have ended me up in detox, in the emergency room, because I would have had to come down from all the things that people say I’m taking and my father says I’m taking — so that says something, because I was fine.”

On denying drug abuse: “I’ve never abused prescription drugs. I never have — never in my life. I have no desire to. That’s not who I am. I’ve admitted to the things that I’ve done — to, you know, dabbling in certain things and trying things ’cause I was young and curious and thought it was like, O.K., ’cause other people were doing it and other people put it in front of me. And I see what happened in my life because of it.”

On hanging out with the wrong crowd: “So many people around me would say they cared for the wrong reasons. A lot of people were pulling from me, taking from me and not giving. I had a lot of people that were there for me for, you know, the party.”

On her father, Michael Lohan: “I think if anyone should be looked at medically it’s him. He has such a big chemical imbalance at this point because of all the things he’s done to himself. … The worst part of it is you turn around and you see your dad crying and normally you’d be, like, happy that your father’s there. But then he has to go and do an interview right after.”

On her career being far from over: “I want my career back. I know that I’m a damn good actress, and it’s been my passion since I was a child, and I know that when I care about something, I put 100 percent and more into it. … I want the respect that I had when I was doing great movies. And if that takes not going out to a club at night, then so be it. It’s not fun anyway. I don’t care. It’s the same thing every time.”

TMZ has obtained the first photo of Lindsay Lohan since she checked herself into jail July 20.


The picture was taken this morning at 8:35 AM at a parking garage in Beverly Hills, as Lindsay climbed out of the back of a decoy van, holding a Rockstar energy drink.

Lindsay Lohan has been released from jail, but she's not a free woman yet.


The 24-year-old actress was discharged from a suburban Los Angeles jail about 1:35 a.m. Monday. She served 14 days of a 90-day jail sentence for violating her probation for a 2007 drug case.
CBS Radio News correspondent Steve Futterman reports Lohan left the jail through a back or side entrance, avoiding the throngs of media amassed near the front door.

Futterman says Lohan's departure was announced by a spokesman for the sheriff's office, who said the star was met by members of a drug rehabilitation center and quickly whisked away for treatment.
The "Mean Girls" star's release doesn't end her legal saga though. She now must go to an inpatient rehab program.

Lohan had been in a sequestered unit of the women's jail since July 20. The facility has also housed stars such as Paris Hilton and Michelle Rodriguez. A judge in Beverly Hills determined Lohan violated her probation by missing seven weekly alcohol education classes since December.
The question will now be whether the talented actress with a long history of drug and alcohol problems can really turn her life around.

Dr. Dale Archer, a psychiatrist who specializes in chemical imbalances in the brain and personal responsibility, told "The Early Show on Saturday Morning" that Lohan can turn things around if she separates herself from certain people - perhaps even her family.

"If she were my patient, I would say, 'Look, no work for a year; your sobriety is more important than family, friends or job, because if you don't say sober, you will lose all of those, and you may lose your life as well,'" said Archer.

Making for quite the unhappy ending to her pre-birthday celebration, more details have emerged surrounding Lindsay Lohan's club punching on Thursday night.According to reports, the "Mean Girls" actress was chatting it up with Danny Cipriani at Voyeur in Los Angeles - during which time one of the rugby stud's former flames (who happened to be a club waitress) became overly upset about the situation and took her frustrations out on LiLo.

A TMZ insider tells that the waitress delivering the birthday blow will most likely be fired for her actions, with Voyeur managers having scheduled a meeting to discuss the situation.Meanwhile, it sounds as if Lindsay has shaken off the incident, as she has since told Radar Online, “I’m okay now.”
