Summer Trend Alert: Rockin' Rompers
By Qianna Smith
The last time you rocked a romper may have been in grade school, but you'll be glad to know the youthful one-piece fashion statement has gotten a womanly update. Meet the new and improved romper--a one-piece short and top comb that's been all the rage for the past two summer seasons. From Beyoncé to Thandie Newton, Hollywood stylistas can't get enough of this trend and its versatility. Dress it up or down, throw on a few accessories and you're set! If you want to look effortlessly chic this look is the way to go this season. To show you why the romper is the must-have item to own this summer we have put together two day and night looks for under $100. Frugal and fab--it doesn't get any better than this!
ROMPER STYLE TIPS:
Fit & Fab: The right romper fit should not be skin tight. We suggest buying one-size up from the size you would normally wear. The short part of the romper looks best when it hangs loose around the thigh area. If you're a woman with hips, avoid rompers with short pockets which have a tendency to make you look wider. Don't choose a romper that falls too short unless your legs are tight and toned (such as the lovely ladies above). The most appropriate romper fit should fall in the half way point between your hip and knee. To accentuate your shape add a belt to the look to help cinch your waist.
Day Style: Relaxed Romper

Tyler Perry Addresses Mariah Carey's Exit From 'Colored Girls'
In a letter to his fans, Tyler Perry admits that he was caught off guard by Mariah Carey's sudden withdrawal from his latest film, 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf.' But he also had some good news: Thandie Newton, Michael Ealy and Tessa Thompson are set to join the cast.
"I'm there on vacation, celebrating life, thanking God and just relaxing when I get a message that I have to come home, that Mariah has dropped out of the film! I said 'What? You're kidding?' It's five she has to go to work, nobody does that. We have a deal. IT'S FIVE DAYS BEFORE SHE IS SUPPOSED TO GO TO WORK! So, I got on the plane and came home and started trying to re-cast this major role in the film."
