The 'Hot N Cold' singer has dispelled rumor about her Indian wedding party that was sparked by best friend Rihanna, saying 'She thought we were getting married in India because we got engaged there.'
Katy Perry has revealed that her best friend Rihanna has got the wrong idea about where she and fiance Russell Brand will hold their upcoming nuptials. On Monday, May 24, the 25-year-old singer poured cold water to the rumor first spread by the "Rude Boy" singer when talking to Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show.
"We haven't sent out anything but I heard a rumor that someone dropped where we were getting married," she told the radio host as referring to Rihanna's previous remark to Ryan which dished her wedding location. "I haven't told her where we're getting married actually. She thought we were getting married in India because we got engaged there."
Rihanna spilled that Katy will get married in India when talking to Ryan about her planning for Katy's bachelorette party. "She put that on me last week, I have to come up with something cool because she's getting married in India so I'm like 'Okay, now what do I do to match that?' That's at the end of the year so we've got some time to plan that," she explained at the time.
Days after, the "Save the Week" card of Katy's wedding invitation leaked out and seemed to support Rihanna's words. The envelope reportedly is decorated with a henna-tattooed hand wearing an engagement ring, and the inside card mentioned that the guests will have to prepare for their passport to attend the wedding.
Asked about why the guests should prepare their passport, Perry simply told Ryan, "I hope it to be in a location because I think it's better to take people out of their comfort zones." The "Hot N Cold" singer further continued, "I think it's going to be small for right now because there's so much biggness going on in our lives...there will be receptions and parties. Everybody knows that I love to throw a good party."
Katy's 34-year-old fiance Russell, in the meantime, told People Magazine that they haven't yet decided on a location for the wedding. He won't rule out any place, including Las Vegas, though. "Now we're talking, the drive-thru chapel," he said. "A Vegas wedding
, married by Elvis Presley, or even better, Aaron Presley in his unnourished form."
