Rihanna sued by celeb photographer David LaChapelle over 'S&M' video

Pop star Rihanna's lurid and brightly colored music video "S&M" was "directly derived" from pictures taken by prominent U.S. fashion photographer David LaChapelle, he said in a lawsuit made public on Monday.

LaChapelle, who has shot celebrities for magazines such as Rolling Stone, GQ and Vanity Fair, said "the music video is directly derived from and substantially similar to the LaChapelle works."

Rihanna, 22, has sold over 25 million albums worldwide and dominated music charts in the U.S. with singles such as "Umbrella" and "What's my name." The single "S&M", however, has fizzled on the charts, and the video has been banned in some countries for its sexual content.

In the suit, LaChapelle said Rihanna had appropriated eight of his images into the video, such as a shot where she is shown in profile against a blue background with a piece of candy on her tongue.

LaChapelle said Rihanna's video copied the "composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colors, props, settings, decors, wardrobe and lighting" of his work.
He is suing for unspecified damages. A spokeswoman for Rihanna did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Kate Hudson Laughs Off Engagement Rumors

Following the news that actress Kate Hudson and Muse frontman Matt Bellamy are expecting a child, there has now been fresh speculation that the pair have also recently become engaged.

Hudson, who is 14 weeks pregnant, denied the rumors. "No, no, not that I know of!" Hudson said on Britain's 'The Graham Norton Show' Wednesday. "I don't like putting that sort of pressure on it. I don't feel it necessary to get married ... I am 31, I already have one child and one divorce so it is not necessarily the golden ticket. just want to be happy."

Kardashian Sisters Coy About Khloé Pregnancy Rumors

If anyone is used to pregnancy rumors, it's Khloé Kardashian.

Following a summer of major "baby bump" speculation, the reality star, 26, is facing it yet again, with new reports surfacing Monday.

"She's pregnant like every other week," Khloé's sister Kourtney Kardashian told PEOPLE coyly on Monday while promoting her new series, Kourtney & Kim Take New York.

Neither Kourtney nor sister Kim Kardashian would address the subject directly. Kim instead jokingly asked, "What I want to know is what constitutes a 'baby bump?' "

Kourtney suggested, "It's like if you eat a lot that day and sit down and have a tiny fat roll – it's so funny."

But despite the banter, a source close to the reality TV family says Khloé and her hubby Lamar Odom, 31, dismiss the latest rumors. "She's not pregnant yet," the source tells PEOPLE.

The sisters' new show airs Jan. 23 on E!. Khloé and Odom, meanwhile, have a reality show of their own in the works.
