A source said: "Not only has Dina been 'shopping' around her upcoming trip to visit Lindsay in rehab at Betty Ford to media outlets for the sale of pictures but she is doing it to develop a new reality show!"
Meanwhile, Lindsay's father Michael - who divorced Dina in 2005 - had blasted his ex-wife for trying to use Lindsay's personal problems to boost her own career.
He told RadarOnline.com: "She can't get a show about her own life, so she's using Lindsay's troubles to get her a reality show."
This news comes shortly after Michael admitted he was so desperate to visit his daughter - who he is estranged from - he's been on the telephone to the head of the rehabilitation facility.
He said: "I've been on the phone with the head of Betty Ford again trying to find out how I can schedule a visit with Lindsay. This is about Lindsay's well being and her future. She needs to have her whole family around her."
Lindsay voluntarily checked herself into rehab last month after failing two court-ordered drugs tests.
She is due in court on October 22 for a probation hearing.
The 'Mean Girls' actress - who served 13 days of a 90-day jail term behind bars in July for breaching the terms of probation set for a 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) conviction - returned to prison following the failed tests, but ended up spending just a matter of hours behind bars after posting $300,000 bail.
