Gabrielle Union Joins 'Army Wives' Spinoff Series

By Wilson Morales
Last seen in a supportive role on ABC's recently canceled series, 'FlashForward,' actress Gabrielle Union has joined the cast of Lifetime's previously green-lighted 'Army Wives' spinoff.

Variety states that the spinoff, which will be produced as an episode of 'Army Wives,' centers on the character of Pamela, played by Brigid Brannagh.

In the potential new series, Pamela, a former police officer whose husband was a Delta Force soldier, is now divorced and back in her old job as an Atlanta cop. Union will play her partner, Gina Holt.

Pamela's divorce is a major part of the fourth season of 'Army Wives.'

Union also appeared the short-lived series 'Life,' 'Night Stalker' and 'City of Angels.'

The Nebraska native was last seen on the big screen opposite Jeffrey Wright in 2008's 'Cadillac Records.' Prior to that, she appeared in the films 'Meet Dave' with Eddie Murphy, 'The Perfect Holiday' with Morris Chestnut and Tyler Perry's 'Daddy's Little Girls' with Idris Elba.
